Events

School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Harmony Day- Term 1

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. The message of Harmony Week is “Everyone Belongs”. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

At HPPS we value and promote inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

NAIDOC Week- Term 3

NAIDOC Week celebrations at HPPS begin with a community breakfast, Acknowledgment of Country, followed by powerful performances by local artists, featuring traditional dance and didgeridoo.

Students take part in a meaningful smoking ceremony, walking through the smoke as a symbol of cleansing and connection. Afterwards, we gather in the hall for our NAIDOC assembly.

Neighbourhood Block party- Term 1

HPPS annual Community Hub Neighbourhood Block Party event aims to reignite a greater sense of school / neighbourhood & community belonging, identity, pride and cohesion. We invite all our families and community friends to come and meet their amazing community & make new lifelong memories. An evening of personal connections. We hope all participants leave the event feeling that as a community WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!
