Events

School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Harmony Day- Term 1

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. The message of Harmony Week is “Everyone Belongs”. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

At HPPS we value and promote inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

NAIDOC Week- Term 3

NAIDOC Week celebrations at HPPS begin with a community breakfast, Acknowledgment of Country, followed by powerful performances by local artists, featuring traditional dance and didgeridoo.

Students take part in a meaningful smoking ceremony, walking through the smoke as a symbol of cleansing and connection. Afterwards, we gather in the hall for our NAIDOC assembly.

Neighbourhood Block party- Term 1

HPPS annual Community Hub Neighbourhood Block Party event aims to reignite a greater sense of school / neighbourhood & community belonging, identity, pride and cohesion. We invite all our families and community friends to come and meet their amazing community & make new lifelong memories. An evening of personal connections. We hope all participants leave the event feeling that as a community WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!

Roadmap to Kindy 2027 - 2
Our roadmap for Kindergarten students starting at Hoxton Park Public School in 2027 prioritises a supportive and collaborative transition process. Throughout the year, families will have multiple opportunities to engage with our school community, gaining insight and resources to help their children adjust successfully to primary school.
Our first step for Kindergarten 2027 is encouraging local families to enrol their children via our website or by contacting hoxtonpark-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au, ensuring a smooth start to their school journey at Hoxton Park Public School.
Our second step for Kindergarten 2027 offers families with children aged 4-5 engaging learning experiences to support a smooth transition from childcare to primary school. The teacher-designed Head Start program develops skills in literacy, numeracy, creative arts, technology, and science, preparing children for their upcoming Kindergarten journey at Hoxton Park Public School.
The third step in our Kindy 2027 roadmap is to invite families with children starting kindergarten at Hoxton Park Public School to attend our Kindy School Expo. This event is designed to showcase the support we provide to every family and child to ensure a smooth transition into primary school. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about the services connected to our school that support all our students and their families.
The fourth step in our Kindy 2027 roadmap is to invite prospective families to participate in a school tour. This is a valuable opportunity to meet our leaders and staff, gain insight into the programs we offer, and observe the facilities enjoyed by our students every day. There are two tour dates to choose from, and registration is required to help us plan for the number of families attending each session.
The fifth step in our Kindy 2027 roadmap is to invite families and their children to attend our Kindy Playgroup Sessions. These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families and children who will be starting Kindergarten in 2027. There are two sessions to choose from, and registration is required to help us cater appropriately for the event.
The sixth step in our Kindy 2027 roadmap is to attend Kindergarten interviews with your child. These interviews help the school gain a better understanding of your child and their individual needs. The information shared will be used to support a smooth transition into Kindergarten in 2027, enabling teachers to tailor their approach to best meet your child’s needs.
The final step in our Kindy 2027 roadmap is an opportunity for all families and children enroled for 2027 to participate in Kindy Transition Sessions. During these sessions, families can attend valuable information sessions on how to support their child’s learning at home, while children engage in enriching classroom activities with their future 2027 teachers. There are three one-hour sessions available, and families and children are encouraged to attend all three.
